    Cancellation & Missed Appointment Policy

When you make an appointment we are reserving that time for you.  We do our best to schedule a day and time that will be convenient to your schedule. If you cancel an appointment with more than 24-hours notice, this provides us time to fill the space, and you will not be charged. We do not accept cancellation calls over weekends or holidays for the following day.  This is all detailed in your New Client intake paperwork.

Selah Counseling & Wellness requires a 24-hour notice to cancel an appointment without a fee.  For Monday appointments cancellations should be made by the appointment start time on the previous Friday.

A late cancellation fee of $100 applies to appointments that are not attended or cancelled within 24-hours of the session and is not covered by insurance. Your credit card will be on file with Selah Counseling & Wellness and will be automatically charged if an appointment is cancelled without 24-hour notice.

Helpful Questions To Ask When You Call Your Insurance Company:

    • What are my outpatient in network mental health benefits?
    • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
    • Do I have a co-pay or a co-insurance and what is the amount?
    • What is my deductible and has it been met?
    • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
    • Do I need a prior authorization for services? Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
    • What is the reference number for this call, and who am I speaking to?

    If your insurance is out-of-network:

    • What are my out of network benefits?
    • How can I get reimbursed for sessions I pay for with an out-of-network provider?

    Out of Network (OON)

    • Please contact your insurance company to verify your OON benefits if you are interested in billing insurance. Some insurance companies will allow me to do direct billing, which means less up front out of pocket costs for you. If they do not allow provider billing, you will be required to pay at each session, will be provided a bill, that can then be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.
    • If you would like to use OON benefits, please be aware of what your OON benefits are prior to scheduling with Selah Counseling & Wellness LLC.
    • Please do not be discouraged if you do not see your insurance company listed here.  Some insurance companies have very affordable Out of Network plans which allow clients to be able to use these benefits to see clinicians at Selah Counseling & Wellness LLC. We encourage you to call your carrier to find out what your OON benefits (if any) are.

“Self-care is never a selfish act – it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others. Anytime we can listen to our true self and give the care it requires, we do it not only for ourselves, but for the many others whose lives we touch.”
