Amy Geske, MS

I am passionate about empowering others and meeting them where they are on their mental health journey. I want to create a safe environment in which people can be themselves without fear of being judged or loud external noises of the world surrounding them. I’ve worked with people and couples who have suffered from trauma, depression, and anxiety, which has had an impact on their everyday lives and left them with little hope for the future. I want to collaborate with people to help them look in the mirror and know that it is acceptable to not be okay, and it does not define who they are.

Amy works with teens (13+), adults, couples and families.

What I'm Like as a Therapist

As a counselor, I want to provide a safe, trusting and accepting atmosphere where everyone may take charge of their own healing and collaborate with my clients to accomplish their goals. I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are at the moment and guiding them through life’s obstacles by assisting them in finding coping mechanisms and solutions to improve their daily lives. I believe in challenging my clients to reduce the volume and sit in quiet. Sitting in quiet when the world around you is noisy may help individuals process their ideas, emotions, and intentional choices. I wish to guide my client’s through life’s harsh noises and help them achieve their inner peace.

Personal Interests

I enjoy spending time with my family , cooking, reading ( well auto books ), swimming, and just enjoy being out in nature.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Trauma Experiences and Healing

During my Master degree, I worked with ages 4 to older that had significant trauma that affected their daily lives. The trauma we endure in any stage of our life does not have to define who we are for the rest of it. I would be honored to be part of your journey and help you navigate through what you need to reduce symptoms that are affecting your daily life.

Couples & Relationships

I have experience collaborating with couples to identify issues that are present in their relationship and helping them to understand each other’s needs. Understanding each other’s needs are important in developing and maintaining a healthy relationship.

Depression/Anxiety

I have experience with helping and empowering individuals to use their known and hidden strengths to develop coping skills and mindfulness techniques to reduce their daily depression and anxiety symptoms.
