Tirsa Sparr, LPC

I believe that we all have a journey that has led us where we are, with individual challenges and opportunities. Events from the past can leave lasting impacts that lead to feeling disconnected from self or others and difficulties with living authentically. I am passionate about listening to your story to work through challenges and assist you with taking control of this journey in order to feel whole and complete. I believe in a collaborative approach to help people create a healthier perception of themselves while strengthening their resources, and relationships during the healing process.

What I'm Like as a Therapist

I work with each human is an individual with the understanding that we all processes our own unique way. I am trauma focused and person centered in my approach. I have been trained in and utilize a variety of approaches including compassion focused, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), sensorimotor, mindfulness based, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy. I incorporate a unique blend of these approaches to benefit each individual client’s needs and processing ability.

Personal Interests

I enjoy getting outdoors in a variety of ways. I enjoy gardening, hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking, and just exploring in general with my partner and dog. I enjoy making art, primarily oil painting and reading.

“History is not the past. It is the stories we tell about the past. How we tell the stories – triumphantly or self critically, metaphysically or dialectically- has a lot to do with whether we cut short or advance our evolution as human beings.”

Millennials, Transitionally Aged Adults & College Students

I have a strong interest in higher education and enjoy working with those participating in college/university. I enjoy working with young adults on self-discovery and individuation.

Trauma Healing

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an intervention for processing and deactivating trauma. I have a passion for supporting individuals on their journey of healing. I utilize sensorimotor, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to help unlock the trapped memories that are leading to distress in an individual’s life to help them live in the present moment

Spiritual / Faith Crisis

I have experience and passion working with individuals experiencing loss of faith and helping them create a new sense of identity to feel more whole and complete.
